Shri Vyankatesh Arts and Commerce College is established in the year 1967. The college has completed 50 years of excellence in 2017. Due to this, the College celebrated the ‘Golden Jubilee Year’ in 2017 by taking various programs and events. It is run by Shri Balaji Sansthan, Deulgaon Raja, a charitable trust in Deulgaon Raja. The Chairman of Shri Balaji Sansthan Late Raje Rajendrasingh Jadhao started this college to provide the facility of higher education to the people in Deulgaon Raja and the precinct of Deulgaon Raja. He had started this college in his palace (at his residence), and later on, an ex-servant (peon) of this college Shri Mukundrao Chavan donated his 13 Acres & 7 AAR land for the college and in 1971 the college began to meet in the new building on Jafrabad road. Initially, the college started the Arts and Commerce faculty.
The Science faculty has been introduced since 2009 in the service of the people. Presently. Since 2005 Hon. Raja Vijaysingh Jadhao has been the chairman of Shri Balaji Sansthan and Shri Vyankatesh College Deulgaon Raja. His valuable guidance and moral support have made this college quite popular amongst the people of Deulgaon Raja. The college has adequate facilities for sports, a Library, Cultural activities and Competitive Examinations. The college has well-qualified staff always willing to develop themselves with different curricular and extracurricular activities. Dr. D.V. Gore has been the principal of this college since July 2021 and he has been looking after the affairs of the college excellently. Besides science, courses like M.A. in English, and Marathi; as well as M. Com. are also started. Skill-based course, i.e. Bachelor of Vocational in Agriculture sponsored by UGC New Delhi affiliated to Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University, Amravati has been started in 2018. The college also has a study Center of Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University, Nashik for distance learning courses like Preparatory courses, B.A., B.Com. and M.A. English and Marathi, M.Sc. Mathematics are the courses available in the college under this study centre.
Recently two students achieved Gold Medal in Political Science and History respectively. Moreover, a colour coat in wrestling is also a matter of pride for the institution. The govt. of Maharashtra awarded the first prize worth Rs. 100000/-to this college at the district level for successfully organizing the program ‘Jagar Janivancha,’ The college has also achieved a district-level first prize in 2008 on successfully organizing the special N.S.S. Camp introduced by the govt. of Maharashtra. The college also achieved ‘Paryavaran Purskar 2017’ of SGBAU Amravati. Four students of N.C.C. achieved colour coats for participating in Republic Day Pared at New Delhi in consecutive years. The college also achieved the award of ‘NSS Best Unit 2017’ of SGBAU Amravati, as well as awarded ‘NSS Best Program Officer 2017’ to Dr. V. R. Bansile by SGBAU Amravati and also the State Government. The college has an updated staffroom, girls’ common room, library and office. The cash prizes declared by Shri Balaji Sansthan, the staff of this college and some of the donors from Deulgaon Raja to the meritorious students are also a matter of pride for the institution. The participation of the N.S.S. and N.C.C. volunteers and cadets in the corporate sector is also noteworthy such as their participation in Balaji Palanquin procession to help the people to have the ‘Darshan’ of Shri. Balaji Maharaj idol comfortably. Moreover, a band of Lezim of the college boys or the Pawali Pathak of the girls is also an attraction centre at the beginning of the palanquin. The college principal along with the staff participated in this activity wholeheartedly. In this way, the college has been trying to adhere to the aims and objectives of the college by performing in curricular, extracurricular and corporate activities. We look forward to more and more development based on our honest work and persistent efforts.
