The department of zoology organizes various curricular and co-curricular activities throughout the academic year to create interest of the student in the subject. Every year guest speakers are invited for the students to share about topics directly related to their syllabus which helps to improve their knowledge. Regularly the virtual lecture on various subject arrange in digital classroom for students. Field visits are arranged for the students on a regular basis at various places like sericulture plant, fisheries, agricultural field etc. which helps students to understand the subject in more depth.
To motivate the student seminars are conducted for almost every course which helps to improve their teaching skill. Department also organizes group discussion on various topics related to subject to increase their communication skill and to clear their concept. The quiz competition conducted to develop knowledge in zoology which also helps to crack various competitive exams. In the regular teaching teachers encourage students to prepare Posters and Power point presentations related to their syllabus. Every year students prepare wall magazine related to subject.To create interest of the student in researchthe faculties of the department guide to the students for mini projects related to the subject to take part in various competition. Staff members of the department takes active part in organizing conferences held by the college and participate in various Seminars/Workshops/Conferences held at State/National/International level and published research paper in various peer reviewed journals. The department organizes blood group detection camp. Department conducts the certificate course and also encourage students to enroll in NPTEL online course related to the subject. Various days like Worlds Mosquito Day, World Sparrow Day, National Science Day etc. with active participation of the student celebrate by the department each year.
The project on “Design and Development of Automated Identification of Fauna by using fusion in Biometric System and Tumor Detection by using Image Processing”of B.Sc. III student Anmol Chaudhari was shortlisted and presented in Tiger Tech 2018 competition at VNIT Nagpur organized by Melghat Tiger Reserve Maharashtra .
The B.Sc. III student Anmol Chaudhari got second prize in State Level Science Exhibition organized on 23rd January 2018 in our college.
