The department of Geography organizes supplementary activities for students of Geography for their personality development along with learning. The department forms Vasundhara board at the beginning of every academic year. The participants of this board are the students of B.A. Part I, II & III, the president of this Board is selected From B. A. part III. The posts of vice Chairperson & members are given to students of part I & II different programmes are undertaken throughout the year. Vasundhara Board under Department of Geography organizes Guest Lectures for the students. World Earth Day is celebrated on 14th January every year to create& increase the interest of students in this subject. The department organizes different types of activities such as lectures, exhibition of maps & Geographical tools and instruments and Showing them audio-visualtape with the purpose to spreading geographical information in the society through the students.
The Department of Geography publishes a wall paper named ‘Environment’ every year. It includes the information about regional features, topography etc. collected by the students. It is released by the hands of invited dignitaries and then it is made available to the readers.The students of the department along with personal vow are motivated to environmental equilibrium out of the feeling that they owe something to the society. Today we are facing the problems like water, sound, air pollution soil pollution, solid waste pollution acid rain etc. keeping it in mind, awareness awakening Rallies are organized in the town to guide the people. Road-shows are organized during the rallies. Students as well as people participate in the rallies & pamphlets about environmental equilibrium are distributed among the people.
Visits to geographical places such as Ajanth, Ellora & Lonar are organized every year so that students could study the geographical reasons of the creation of such places. Detailed report is prepared by the students & made available for other students to read. The students make a survey of a village in Deulgaon Raja Tehasil, concerning their family, economic condition, Occupation & their lifestyle and status of development of the village is decided with the help of collected information.
In this way keeping interest of students in mind the department also organizes Essay Writing Competition, Elocution Competition and Debate competition etc. apart from the above mentioned activities.
