The Teaching-Learning-Evaluation process of the department of Geography begins from 1st July of the every academic year. We prepared the detailed academic plan in the academic diary provided by the college. This academic diary is prepared by the IQAC in the college every year, with the help of the university academic calendar. We prepare the detailed plan of teaching, learning & evaluation in that academic diary. The department conducts various curricular activities to improve teaching-learning-evaluation process such as unit tests, seminars, quiz competitions, group discussions, interactive sessions, special guest lectures, practical, study tours and students’ survey reports, etc. After completing each lesson the notes are detected in the classroom and students are asked to prepare the notes. The interactive sessions and unit tests were held in every month. Along with this, to encourage and to improve their stage courage seminars, quiz competitions and group discussions were also organized. All students are appealed and motivated to participate in these activities. From academic session 2017-18 the Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University, Amravati introduced semester system to B.A. beginning with the first year. The college conducted the examinations and assessed the papers at the college level. There is 50+30+20pattern introduced for this classes Fifty marks are for theory paper, thirty marks are for practical paper and twenty marks are for internal assessment.
To make the teaching-learning process more effective we regularly use the Digital Class Room, Power Point Presentation and various Audio-Visual Aids for classroom teaching. To enhance the understanding of students and increase their active involvement in teaching-learning process the interactive sessions were often organized by the department. For getting extra knowledge of current issues on geography, dept arranges every year guest lectures of eminent persons from various colleges & universities. All the records and files of all these activities undertaken during the year were maintained by the department. This record is checked by the Principal as well as by IQAC regularly. To evaluate the progress of students’ unit tests, seminars, quiz competitions and group discussions as well as the first term and second term examinations are conducted at the end of each session. They are provided study material or notes. Besides these activities the study projects and home assignments are also the activities which help us for effective teaching and learning process. The problems of students are discussed with them and their difficulties are solved in a separate session.
