Department of Political Science is a reknown department for academic excellence and activities. It has made considerable progress in teaching, research and extension. Through various students centric activities the department endeavors to harness the skill of the students to showcase their talents in debating, elocution, quizzing, seminars, group discussions, General Knowledge & intelligence, projects and power-point presentations.
The department forms Political Science Study forum at the beginning of the session. These forums organize various curricular activities during each session like elocution competition, debate competition, quiz competition, group discussions, general knowledge exam, wall magazines and study visits to Panchyat Samiti, Nagar Palika, Tahsil Office etc. Beside this, the department organizes student centric activities organizes democratic processes like YIN Election under Young Inspirators Network Leadership Development Programmme, Youth Development Programmme and Gandhian Thought Exam etc. The interdisciplinary surveys regarding the political/social issues are undertaken with the help of the students. The students are asked to prepare research projects with use of field work and library sources to collect the information about the concerned topics.It also encourages the students to participate in research-based activities like research paper competition, seminar, and conference & workshop and tries to inculcate in them civic, democratic and secular values so that they come out as responsible citizens of tomorrow. The department annually organizes speeches of the experts at the department level.
The Department had organized successfully one National Conference, one State Level Seminar for and State Level Multidisciplinary Research Paper Competition. The department has published a special issue of journal on “Changing Trends & Issues in Indian Politics”, a book of the research papers and souvenir of state level seminar.
The education that we get helps us in acquiring information and knowledge either in the classroom or from the extracurricular and co-curricular activities that results in remarkable success.
