Department of Political Science believe strongly in the role of teacher in quality education and giving best for students. The College prepares academic calendar and teaching schedule according to the academic plan of the University. The department prepares an academic plan for the teaching and evaluation and mentioned it in academic diary. Notes are dictated in the class and students are asked to prepare the notes. After completing each unit of syllabus, the tests are held in every month. Minimum 5 tests are conducted during the year. Along with these tests, to make the students bold on the stage seminars are also organized. All the students are appealed to participate in this activity. Maximum students deliver their seminar on the topic taught in the class. Students are given time schedule for giving Seminars in each Semester, the programme is arranged conducted at the end of every session. For B.A. Students 80 + 20 marks pattern in the semester system. There is 20 marks for internal assessment and theory paper is 80 marks.
Curriculum transaction is made participatory and interactive. Apart from classroom interaction, assignments, project-writing and seminars are given to the students. The group discussion, Seminar & Project is the part of evaluation. Hence to make the students able in a group discussion, two groups a discussions are held at the end of every session. Maximum students take part in this activity. In this group discussion individual performance is observed and they are given marks individually. It helps student to train himself to discuss and argue about the topic given, it helps students to express his views on serious subjects and in formal situations. It improves his thinking, listening and speaking skills. It also promotes students confidence level. It is an effective tool in problem solving, decision making and personality assessment.
Subject based quiz competitions are organized at the end of every session. Team of 3 or 4 students are generally are created for this activity. Students like this activity most as they perform it in group and it also creates a kind of competition among them. In this method evaluation is done of the group. To a winner group given prize and certificates are given to the participants of the winner group. Besides these evaluation methods, in order to prepare for semester exams the failure students are warned and advised to study hard. The teacher helps to prepare study material or notes to students. The truant student's parents are consulted telephonically or by post. Personal visits are also paid to such students as the town is small and every now and then come across their parents. In this way the evaluation of students is made throughout the year. Besides these activities the interactive sessions and project and home assessment, are also the activities which help us for effective teaching and learning process. The progress of the syllabus completion is monitored by Principal. The department prepare the records of all above mention activities and submits academic report and files to principal as well as the IQAC at the end of the session. The academic report and files are checked by the principal as well as by the IQAC.
